Spend the day exploring art in three dimensions before loosening up your drawing skills.
Inspired by Frank Stella, the morning focuses on building colourful sculptural artworks using recycled corrugated cardboard, Posca pens and paint. Every child will create their own sculpture while contributing to a large collaborative free-standing installation.
During the afternoon, inspired by Henri Matisse, children will experiment with expressive charcoal drawing using long sticks to encourage movement, confidence and playful mark-making. They'll also contribute to a collaborative still-life drawing while taking inspiration from a treasured object they bring from home.
This creative day develops confidence, observation, teamwork and imagination while encouraging children to think beyond traditional ways of making art.
✨ All materials provided (apart from one clean piece of corrugated cardboard and an optional meaningful object from home).
