Welcome to
Seedlings Art School
Where creativity grows through play, exploration, and care
About Us
Seedlings Art School is a creative learning community for children aged 5-15, designed to nurture confidence, curiosity and self-expression through art. Rooted in the belief that creativity should be accessible, joyful and supported, our sessions encourage young people to explore, experiment and develop their own artistic voice while supporting their wellbeing and personal growth.
Inspired by the growing importance of soft skills in an increasingly digital world, Seedlings offers a welcoming environment where children can develop creativity, communication, problem-solving, resilience and confidence through hands-on artistic experiences. As technology continues to shape how we learn, work and connect, the ability to think creatively, collaborate with others and express ideas confidently is becoming more valuable than ever.
Through a wide range of materials, collaborative projects and process-led learning, children are encouraged to take creative risks, build self-belief and develop skills that will support them not only as artists, but as well-rounded individuals. Through after-school clubs, holiday workshops and community projects, Seedlings Art School aims to help children grow, connect and flourish in a supportive and inspiring space.

Meet your tutor:
Katie Sims
Hello, I'm Katie, an artist, educator and the founder of Seedlings Art School. For 7 years, I have worked in art education, supporting young people to develop their creativity, confidence and self-expression. Alongside teaching, I have built my own artistic practice, creating work inspired by the natural world and exhibiting across the South West. I even had the pleasure of competing in Sky Arts Landscape Artist of the Year (2026)! Throughout my career, I have witnessed the powerful impact creativity can have on wellbeing, communication and personal growth.
Seedlings Art School was born from a desire to create a nurturing and inspiring space where children can explore art freely, develop confidence in their own ideas and build the soft skills that are becoming increasingly important in today's world. In an age of instant technology and constant connectivity, I believe creativity offers children something invaluable: the opportunity to slow down, think independently, solve problems, collaborate with others and develop a strong sense of self. My aim is to help every child discover the joy of making, while growing into confident, curious and well-rounded individuals.
